Changelog
What shipped, in the order it shipped. Nothing here is a plan — if it’s listed, it works today. Missing something you need? Ask.

Studio
- Move and rotate (M) in Studio: drag the arrows or rings on a part, several parts or the whole model, or type exact millimetres and degrees. Shift snaps to 1 mm or 15°. Saved with the look and shown in renders; review links keep the original file.
22 October 2026
Free 3D converter
- A free 3D file converter at /convert: STL to STEP, STEP to STL, GLB to STL and 22 conversions in all, from STL, STEP, IGES, OBJ, FBX, GLB, glTF, Rhino, 3MF, PLY, DAE and 3DS to STL, STEP, OBJ, GLB, PLY and USDZ. No sign-up, and most files never leave your browser.
- Your first review now carries on in its window after the upload: snapshots and sending happen there, and the model opens when you choose.
22 October 2026
Getting started
- Your first review, step by step: a new account opens on Upload (a 3D model or your renders), Snapshots, Send. Choose what your client gets: the 3D model, the snapshot, or both.
- The pricing tables' Get Solo and Get Studio take you straight to checkout for that plan, through sign-up if you're new.
- Everything a plan unlocks now shows a padlock and the plan's name.
- A new page about image and render review: renders, drawings and PDFs, marked up by your client.

Embed, host and configure
- Embed, beside Share on every model: one line of code puts the 3D viewer on your website. Works on WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Framer and any page that takes HTML.
- Embeds show just the model by default: visitors turn and zoom it, and animations play by themselves. Switch on Show the controls for the toolbar, zoom buttons and play bar.
- Public model pages: meshmarkup.com/m/your-model, with the full viewer, a title and a description. On Solo and up, your studio's name can be in the address.
- 3D configurator, set up in Studio's new Configure tab: viewers switch your looks, pick the file's own colourways (glTF material variants) or choose a finish for the parts you picked. On review links and public pages from Solo, in embeds from Studio.
- Free embeds and pages show “Powered by MeshMarkup” and include 200 views a month. Solo removes the badge, lets people download the model if you switch it on, and has no monthly view limit (fair use). Studio can also limit an embed to your own websites.
- The free viewer has Embed too: create a free account and the model comes with you, with the embed code ready.
- A Product menu in the header, and new pages for the 3D viewer, the configurator and 3D for ecommerce.

Animation
- Animated models play in MeshMarkup. Upload an animated GLB or glTF (or an FBX or DAE, now converted with their animations) and a Motion button appears on the toolbar: play, pick the clip, scrub, loop and change the speed. Nothing plays until you press play.
- Models with animation show Animated · N on their card, and a note the first time you open one.
- Solo and up: turn on Clients can play it and your client plays the animation on the review link, and can pin a note to the exact moment. Click the note and the animation opens paused there.
- Studio: render an animation as an MP4, in 1920 × 1080, 1080 × 1920 for Reels and Shorts, 1080 × 1350 or square, with a still or slowly turning camera. Free makes one 5-second Preview video with the mark; Solo makes Full HD videos up to 60 seconds in Final quality; Studio adds 4K, 60 fps and up to 3 minutes.
- The free viewer plays animations too.
- Four new guides: playing an animation with your client, notes at a moment, animation videos, and exporting an animated GLB.
19 October 2026
Client reviews
- An Add a note button on every review link, so clients don't have to guess they can click the model. The hint over the model now stays until their first note.
- "No changes, looks good" on review links on every plan: one click tells you the client is happy, by email, with an optional line from them.
- If a client opened a link a day ago and hasn't said anything, you get one email suggesting a question to pin for them.
- Client sign-off now comes with Solo.
- Free: 3 new models in any 30 days, however many you archive or delete. Models you already have are not affected.
- Free viewer: while a very big CAD file converts, you can leave your email and close the tab. We send you a link to the model when it's ready.
16 October 2026
Help Center
- Eighteen new guides, from choosing 3D model review software to running an engineering design review, collecting feedback on renders, getting a client's sign-off and managing revisions.
- A fair round-up of 3D model review tools (Sketchfab, Autodesk Viewer, eDrawings, ShareCAD, OmniView 3D and more): what each is built for, what the client needs and where each is the better choice.
15 October 2026
Studio
- Studio: put a material on each part of a model (metals, plastics, rubber, glass, paint), light it like a product shot and render pictures. Renders are ray traced by your own graphics card in the browser tab, and you watch the picture clean up as it renders.
- Lighting sets with softbox lights you can move, resize and recolour, a ground with shadow and reflection, and white, grey, coloured or transparent backgrounds.
- Section cut, exploded view, camera views and saved angles in Studio, kept with each look, so an "Exploded" look and an "Assembled" one sit side by side.
- Add a render to Images in one click, next to the model, for your client to review. Or turn on Show this look to clients and the review link opens the model in your materials and lighting.
- Free renders in Full HD with a MeshMarkup mark. Solo and up: the full material library, your own .hdr lighting, 4K, Final and Max quality, several looks per model and no mark.
- Open Studio from the sidebar, from a model's Lighting panel or from any model's ••• menu.

Integrations
- Settings → Integrations: every connection in one place, and a public Integrations page that shows what each one does.
- Slack notifications and the REST API with signed webhooks now come with Solo, not only the bigger plans. The API can now make review links, reply to notes and change a note's status, as well as read.
- The Blender add-on: send the scene or the selection for review from inside Blender, and the review link is copied for you. Send again and it becomes the next version. On every plan.
- Microsoft Teams: client notes, replies and sign-offs posted into a channel.
- Discord: client notes, replies and sign-offs posted into a channel.
- Zapier: new notes, replies, resolved notes, sign-offs, new versions and opened links can start a Zap, and a Zap can make a review link, reply or change a note's status.
- Make: the same events and actions in a Make scenario.
- Jira: each client note becomes an issue, and finishing the issue resolves the note.
- Asana: each client note becomes a task, and completing it resolves the note.
- Trello: each client note becomes a card, and moving it to Done resolves the note.
- ClickUp: each client note becomes a task, and closing it resolves the note.
- Dropbox: watch a folder the same way.
- Single sign-on on Pipeline: your team signs in with Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace or any SAML provider.
13 October 2026
Review links
- Ask for feedback by a date when you share a model. Add your client's email and MeshMarkup reminds them in your name the day before, on the day and two days after, and stops as soon as they answer.
- You get an email the first time a client opens your link, so you can follow up while it's in front of them.
- The client's page now says who sent the model and by when, explains how to give feedback in plain steps, and puts your questions first: they answer each one with Looks good or Needs a change.
- Clients start with a simpler toolbar, Reset view and More tools, and a hint showing how to turn the model and leave a note.
12 October 2026
Viewer
- A STEP file that was cut off while it was copied or downloaded now opens with the part that's there, and a line saying it's incomplete, instead of failing.
- Signing in from the top menu (or the phone menu) with a model open in the free viewer now takes the model into your account, the same as Start free.
- The exploded view can now spread the parts along X, Y or Z only, with stacked layers spaced evenly, and keep one part still while the others move away from it. On a model page it's saved for your clients, like the rest of the view.
9 October 2026
Viewer
- Models now sit on the floor: the grid and the shadow touch the model's lowest point instead of floating under it. In an exploded view the floor moves down with the parts.
- Your models list shows how many drawings and documents each model has, on cards, in the list and on the board.
8 October 2026
Drawings & documents
- Keep a model's PDF drawings, Excel or CSV parts lists and photos with it. They open next to the 3D, on the model page and on its review links, with nothing to download or install.
- Drop a zip with a model and its drawings, and the drawings are linked to the model on their own. A document named like a model ("bracket-02-drawing.pdf") finds it by name. Any link can be changed in the project.
- Each document has a "Visible to clients" switch: drawings and pictures are shown to clients, spreadsheets stay with you until you switch them on.
- Upload a document again under the same name and it becomes its next revision (Rev B, Rev C…). Earlier revisions are kept.
- New accounts get a second sample: a pillow block assembly with its drawings, a parts list and an engineering client's notes.
8 October 2026
Viewer
- Parts list: every part of an assembly, as the file nests it. Search by name, click to fly to a part, hide it, or show it on its own. On a model page, what you hide is how your clients open it.
- A review link left open for hours now reloads the model's file by itself instead of showing an error.
7 October 2026
Viewer
- Section cut and exploded view, on model pages, review links and the free viewer. What you set on a model page is how your clients open it, with the same controls to change it.
25 September 2026
Onboarding
- New accounts start with a sample review: an astronaut model with notes from a sample client, replies and statuses, and a button to see it the way your client does. It doesn't use a model slot or storage, and you can delete it.
25 September 2026
Help Center
- Six new guides: the complete 3D review workflow, collecting client feedback, annotating a 3D model, collaborating with your team and clients, 3D proofing before production, and Sketchfab vs MeshMarkup for client review.
24 September 2026
Fixes
- Big models upload: files now go straight to storage, so there's no small size cap on uploads or custom .hdr lighting.
- Invited teammates land in the studio that invited them, and anyone in more than one studio can switch from the sidebar. Invites only work for the address they were sent to.
- Choosing a new plan while subscribed changes your subscription instead of starting a second one.
- A failed card keeps your plan while Stripe retries, with a warning on the billing page.
- Dragging to turn the model no longer drops a note; a click does. Keyboard shortcuts work without opening More tools.
- A model dropped together with its textures (or a .gltf with its .bin) uploads as one textured model. Self-contained .gltf files and Draco-compressed GLBs work everywhere; 3MF files arrive at real size.
- Closing a review round stops its links taking new notes. Copy review link reuses the live link instead of making a new one.
24 September 2026
Help Center
- A public Help Center with 41 step-by-step guides, searchable and filterable
- Export guides for Blender, 3ds Max, Maya, Cinema 4D, SketchUp, Rhino, SolidWorks, Fusion, KeyShot, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Revit, Inventor, Onshape and FreeCAD
- FBX and Rhino files now come in at their real size, so measurements read true
24 September 2026
Signing in from Instagram and Facebook
- Opened from inside Instagram, Facebook or TikTok, the sign-in page leads with email — Google blocks sign-in in those apps' browsers — and offers to open Chrome or Safari for Google
- Type the code from the sign-in email right on the page, so you never have to leave the browser you started in
- Sign-in links now work whichever browser or mail app opens them
24 September 2026
CAD and Rhino files
- STEP and IGES open directly — assemblies keep their part names and colours, and come in at their real size
- Rhino .3dm, 3MF and 3DS convert on upload too, in the app and in the free viewer
- SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion and CATIA files say exactly which menu exports a STEP, instead of just refusing
- The free viewer has a proper FAQ: sending a model to a client, formats, privacy, measuring and more
22 September 2026
Lighting, environments and bundles
- Set how a model is lit — preset, brightness, background and shadows — and your client sees exactly the same thing
- Upload an .hdr per model for image-based lighting, and optionally use it as the backdrop
- Lights that travel inside a glTF are honoured instead of being overridden
- Drop a .zip with a model and its textures and they arrive together, rather than grey
- The free viewer now opens everything the app does — FBX, OBJ, STL, PLY, DAE and zips
- The dashboard sidebar collapses to an icon rail, and is a proper drawer on a phone
- A .gltf missing its .bin now says so instead of taking the viewer down with it
21 September 2026
Projects, plans and the public API
- Share a whole project: one link, every model in it, sorted by what still needs the client
- Monthly and yearly billing, with checkout and a customer portal
- REST API and signed webhooks on the Pipeline plan
- Measure distances in the viewer, and file a note against a whole component
- Account deletion and a one-file export of everything in your studio
- Slack notifications for studios on Studio and above
20 September 2026
Getting organised
- A Tasks board across every model, so eight jobs in flight is one list rather than eight tabs
- @mentions in notes, with an email to whoever was named
- A printable round report — every note with the view it was written from
- Invitations now arrive by email instead of a link you had to pass on yourself
- Live updates: a note left by a reviewer appears without a refresh
19 September 2026
The first version
- Notes pinned to the model itself, each remembering the camera it was written from
- Review links with look / comment / sign-off permissions, expiry and revoking
- Versions with their own notes, an overlay to compare two, and open notes carried forward
- Sign-off blocked while anything is still open
- A free in-browser viewer that uploads nothing
