Pin a note to a moment in a 3D animation
Your client pauses the animation where something's wrong, clicks the model and ticks "Pin it to this moment". You see the clip and time, and jump straight there.
A note pinned to a moment remembers both where on the model it was left and when in the animation: the clip and the time, to a tenth of a second. Your client leaves it on the review link with the Motion bar open; you click it and the animation opens paused at exactly that frame, with the pin on the part. It needs Solo or above, with Clients can play it turned on for the model.
Before you share
Turn on Clients can play it
Open the model, click Motion on the toolbar and turn on the switch at the right end of the bar. See playing an animation with your client.
Send the review link
Any review link that lets the client leave feedback works.
What your client does
Play and pause
The review link shows a bar along the bottom of the model. They press play and pause where something looks wrong, or drag the slider there. When there are several clips, they pick one from the list next to the play button.
Click the model
They click the part, or Add a note, as for any note. The bar stays where it is while the note box is open.
Keep "Pin it to this moment" ticked
At the top of the note, a box reads Pin it to this moment with the clip and time, for example Running · 0:01.2. It shows when the bar is open and is ticked unless they untick it. Unticked, the note is an ordinary one.
Post the note
What you see
- The note card shows a small chip with a play sign, the clip and the time.
- Clicking the note flies the camera to the pin, opens Motion and pauses the animation at that moment.
- Along the slider, each note pinned to the current clip shows as a numbered mark at its time. Click a mark to jump there.
Notes pinned to a moment are normal notes in every other way: replies, statuses, assignees and the round report work as usual. See notes, replies and statuses.
On Free
On Free, animations play for you, and the review link shows your client the model still, so notes can't be pinned to a moment. Notes at a moment come with Solo and above.
