Discord
Post MeshMarkup feedback into a Discord channel: new notes, replies, approvals and new versions, batched so the channel stays readable.
MeshMarkup can post your clients' feedback into a Discord channel, so your team hears about it where it already talks. A message arrives when a client leaves notes or replies, signs off a version, when a new version is uploaded, or when a note is resolved. Like the emails, updates are batched: a client working through a model for a few minutes produces one message, with a button that opens the model.
Connect Discord
You need to be the studio's owner or an admin.
Create a webhook in Discord
In Discord, open Server Settings → Integrations → Webhooks and click New Webhook. You need the Manage Webhooks permission on the server.
Choose the channel
Give the webhook a name if you like and pick the channel feedback should go to.
Copy the URL
Click Copy Webhook URL. It starts with
https://discord.com/api/webhooks/.Connect it in MeshMarkup
Open Settings → Integrations, click Connect on the Discord card, paste the URL and click Connect.
Look for the test message
MeshMarkup posts MeshMarkup is connected… to the channel before it saves. When it arrives, the card says Connected.
Good to know
- Posts appear from MeshMarkup. A name a client types can never ping
@everyoneor anyone else. If Discord rejects the URL, the webhook was probably deleted in Discord; make a new one. - Disconnect under the card stops the posts straight away. It works on any plan, so you can switch it off after a downgrade too.
- The webhook URL is stored where only MeshMarkup's server can read it. Nobody can copy it back out of the settings page.
- Want it in Slack as well? Each chat app is connected separately; see email notifications and Slack.
