Feedback-by dates, client reminders and "just opened" alerts
Ask for feedback by a date, and MeshMarkup reminds your client in your name until they answer. You also hear the moment they first open the link.
When you share a model, you can ask for feedback by a date. Your client sees that date at the top of the review link. If you add their email address, MeshMarkup reminds them in your name the day before, on the day and two days after, and stops as soon as they leave anything on the model. You also get an email the moment your client first opens the link, so you can follow up while it's in front of them.
Ask for feedback by a date
Open the Share menu
Click the blue Share for review button in the top-right corner of the viewer on your model page.
Check the date
Ask for feedback by is already filled in with three working days from today. Change it, or click No date for a link without one.
Add their email (optional)
Type your client's address under Their email to switch on reminders. Leave it empty and they still see the date, but nobody is reminded.
Email them the link now (optional)
With an address typed in, Email them the link now is ticked: MeshMarkup sends the link in your name as soon as it's made. Untick it to send the link yourself.
Click the kind of link
Leave feedback or Sign it off. The link is created and copied. A Look only link asks for nothing, so it never has a date or reminders.
What your client sees
At the top of the review link: Alex Park sent you this to review, the model's name, and Feedback by Thursday 15 October. When the date is today or tomorrow, it says so. If the date has passed, it reads Feedback was hoped for by… and nothing else changes: the link keeps working and they can still leave notes.
See what your client sees for the rest of the page.
The reminders
| When | Subject your client gets |
|---|---|
| The day before, around midday | Reminder: Alex Park would like your feedback on [model] by tomorrow |
| On the day, in the morning | [model]: Alex Park is hoping for your feedback today |
| Two days after | Still time to look at [model]? |
Each one is short: it says what you asked for, how many of your questions are still waiting (they can answer each with one tap), and has one button to open the model. Replies go straight to your email address.
Reminders stop by themselves when:
- your client leaves a note, a reply or a one-tap answer on that version
- the version is approved, or the review round is closed
- you switch the link off, or it expires
- your client clicks Stop reminders about this model at the bottom of a reminder, then Stop reminders on the page that opens
- all three have been sent
A link made late doesn't catch up: if you set tomorrow as the date, the first reminder your client gets is the one on the day.
Where you see it
Each link under Out there now in the Share menu shows its date and where its reminders stand, such as Reminding maren@studio.com · 1 of 3 sent or Reminders stopped: they answered. Click Change to move the date or remind someone else. Changing either starts the reminders afresh, except for a client who asked to stop: they stay stopped unless you change the address.
Emailing a link with the Email button sets that address for reminders too, if the link has a date and no one is being reminded yet.
"Just opened" alerts
The first time someone opens one of your review links, everyone in your studio who gets feedback emails receives Maren Holt just opened [model] (or Your client just opened… if they haven't given their name yet). It comes once per link. Opening your own link while signed in to MeshMarkup doesn't count.
If no note comes in that day, a short message while it's still in front of them usually does it. To stop these alerts along with the other feedback emails, turn feedback emails off in Settings. See email notifications.
