Get client notes on renders, snapshots, images and PDFs
Send renders, drawings or a PDF in the same review link as the 3D model. Your client pins notes on the spot and draws arrows, boxes or highlights.
Not every round is about the 3D model. Sometimes it's the renders, a drawing, or a PDF from the supplier. In MeshMarkup they go in the same review link as the model, and your client leaves notes on them the same way: click the spot, type the note. They can also draw an arrow, a box, a highlight or a freehand line with the note, when words aren't enough.
Notes on images get the same replies, statuses, Tasks, reminders, emails and round report as notes on the model.
Add images to a model
Open the model
Go to the model page from Models.
Click Add images
It's at the top of the page. Pick JPG, PNG or WebP pictures, or a PDF. Several at once is fine.
Switch to Images
The stage gets a 3D model | Images switch. The strip at the bottom has one thumbnail per image, with how many notes are open on each.
You can also drop pictures or PDFs on the Models page on their own. MeshMarkup asks where they go: onto one of your models, or as their own review, no model.
Images without a model
A review can be images only: renders for a client who never needs the 3D, or a PDF drawing set. Drop the files on the Models page and choose Their own review, no model. It works like any model: share it, set a feedback-by date, get notes and sign-off. It counts as a model on your plan: one of Free's 3 new models every 30 days, or an active model on a paid plan.
Snapshots of the model
You don't need renders to start: take them from the model itself.
Click Snapshots
It's at the top of the model page. A frame on the model shows exactly what each snapshot takes.
Pick an angle and add it
Turn the model, or click Front, Back, Left, Right, Top or Iso, then Add this view. Section cut, exploded view and hidden parts are taken as they are on screen. Pins are left out.
Choose the size and background
1920 × 1080, 1080 × 1350 or 3840 × 2160; the background as on screen, white or transparent.
Add them to Images
Add snapshots to Images puts them next to the model, ready for notes. Download as PNGs gives you a zip instead.
The views are saved with the model. When you upload the next version, a banner offers to Re-shoot them: each snapshot gets its next revision, so your client can compare the same angle before and after.
Send the images without the model
In the Share menu, switch Show the 3D model off before you make the link. Your client then sees only the images and snapshots, and the 3D file is never sent to them. The link is marked Images only in the list of links.
What your client does
On the review link, your client opens Images at the top of the model (images-only reviews open straight on them). Then:
- Note: click a spot and type the note.
- Arrow, Pen, Box, Highlight: draw first, then type the note. The drawing is saved with the note and shows when anyone opens it. Undo and Clear are next to the note box.
- Zoom: scroll, or pinch on a phone. Drag to move around.
Each note says which image it's on, and the notes list groups them: Notes on the 3D model, then Notes on each image.
Compare a new revision
Upload an image again under the same name and it becomes its next revision (Rev B). Open notes stay on it. A Compare with rev A button appears on that image: slide across to see what changed, on your side and your client's.
On the Free plan
- One image or PDF per model. A second one asks to upgrade.
- A PDF shows its first page only. Paid plans show every page.
- An images-only review counts as one of your 3 new models every 30 days.
- One snapshot view per model, up to 1920 px wide. 4K snapshots are on Solo and up.
Paid plans take as many images and PDF pages as you need.
